Hello!!!! JT and I love to camp and we are sloooooowly trying to bring Sid Turner over to the camping train. 🚆
NOTE: speaking of trains . . . camping next to a freight train railroad TRACK is NOT the way to make that happen.
A campground flood is also NOT going to help us out either, but, um, BoTh of these events happened to . . . well . . . just so happen this weekend at Hersheypark Camping Resort. I swear, we pulled into the resort, it was 90 degrees and sunny, we did a quick setup and the sky just burst ⛈. Rain poured for a couple hours. Once it stopped, we walked around to check out the campground . . .
And we had a flash flood situation. Luckily, we just had a river in front of and behind our camper. Others were not nearly so fortunate; most people got their campers and tents moved, but we saw one that surrounded on all sides by water and a tent with a picnic table in it that was right in the middle of the rush of water.
Talk about a freak out moment! When you’re at Hersheypark and the campground calls and says, “Hey! Your camper is about to float away!” UH. Not so good.
Jess and I got to ride a bunch of the big rides while the husbands had the kids and I can tell you, coasters have definitely gotten wilder since I was a kid! Wow! Some of them are beyond intense: Skyrush 😳 we had a huge hill with a 200 ft. drop and I was barely in my seat the entire ride. TALK ABOUT NEGATIVE G FORCES. My toes in my shoes were trying to cling on to something; I told Jess I was trying to cling on like a spider monkey.
And now, just in case you’re never riding this in real life! Hahahahah!!!
I loved loved loved the big coasters and Jess and I smiled and laughed till our teeth were dry.
Joss also had a great time with her BFF/Frenemy Grace Ann and the water park is huge and was perfect to wrap up a true scorcher of a day.
On our second day at Hersheypark, it was cool and overcast! We enjoyed the park so much without the heat and humidity!
And we even stopped to look at new campers on the way home! Maybe we will persuade Sid to love camping as much as we do after all! Trains, floods and all!!! 😉😂
