Four Mile Ridge Weekend Food Forecast, Week 2

I turned 45 this week.

That’s a lotta candles.  Nah.  Small cake.

Only drawback to being 45 is makeup costs twice as much.  I use twice as much and look only half as good.

Mountain City Cookie Contest was today, December 5th.  Here’s last year’s winner!  If you haven’t made these yet, you absolutely must!  They are ridiculous.  Homemade Nutter Butters (linked).

So I’ve been overthinking my strategy for this year’s cookie contest:

  1.  No whole nuts or chunky nuts.
  2.  No fruit.
  3.  How busy is too busy?
  4.  To stuff or not to stuff.
  5.  No gooey caramel centers  – too sticky!

I won People’s Choice with a #fourmileridge original recipe:  Triple Chocolate S’mores and Hot Chocolate Super-Stuffed Cookies!  Yay!  I’ll post that recipe soon!  It has mini-dehydrated marshmallows, hot chocolate and graham cracker crumbs.

I almost entered these Trash Can Cookies (linked).

Lotsa people have been eyeballing this recipe this week.

I’m making them tomorrow.  And getting a Christmas tree!  And JT has her first Dance Revue.  Aw.

I made this 15 Bean Soup (linked) last week and I’ve been eating it with kale for lunch.  Gives a little rocket boost in the afternoon.  I was excited that this 15 Bean Soup was favorited on instagram by Hurst Beans.  Yippee!

These Whole Grain Oat Rolls  (linked) are awesome with bean soups and taste extra good with whipped honey cinnamon butter.
