Once the weather starts to cool and the smell of fall is in the air, I go into baking overdrive. I love the seasons and the change in the weather always inspires me like none other. I just can’t wait to share all of my favorite fall recipes with you.
But, I had a Four Mile Ridge Food Failure kinda weekend. Good weekend, but lots of baking boo-boos. I hated the apple crisp I made (used old-fashioned rolled oats instead of quick), the cheesecake filling for my Caramel Apple Cheesecake bars was lumpy and the caramel got too hard, my Spiced Apple Cider Mini-Muffins mostly all stuck to the pan and my grilled buffalo chicken pizza with hot peppers burnt (we ate it anyway). Ug. So, I salvaged what I could and will try again. Soon. But not tonight.
On a better note, the weekend’s hi-lites were: the Oakland Farmer’s Market, lunch with Aunt Bee at Uno’s and a play date for Joss on Friday night.
It was so hard to make up my mind. I love this picture. Fruits and veggies are vibrant! Gives the Skittles slogan a whole new meaning.
A barefoot musician was providing the live entertainment. She played “Twinkle Twinkle” and a few other crowd-pleasing favorites.
We fell in love with the bouquets and the flower-picker of the family had a hard hard time resisting. Finally a kind soul gave her a flower, so I bought some salad greens. They are amazing, BTW.
Her $2 spent very wisely.
I love Garrett County. And I love these two. And I love weekends.
